Miami, Florida Light Tackle Sport Fishing...
Captain Larry Berryman...
was born in South Miami in 1974 and has been fishing off Florida’s east coast ever since. Larry started fishing inshore and offshore with his friends and family as a youth, and worked as a mate during the summers and on the weekends for some of Miami’s top captains since he was 16. He specializes in light tackle sport-fishing and will share his passion for the ocean with anglers of all ages and experience.
A professional captain since 2002, Larry, has written several articles for Florida Sport Fishing Magazine and other leading fishing publications. He has been captain and crew of numerous tournament fishing teams and can arrange one of those exciting opportunities for you, if you wish.
Captain Larry is U.S. Coast Guard licensed and insured. He is certified in C.P.R. and is a PADI certified rescue diver. Larry works for the National Marine Manufacturers Association and helps plan the Tampa, Atlanta and Miami International Boat Shows.
The Boat...
Larry’s ”Island Girl” is a custom built 29 foot Sea Vee. He can accommodate up to 4 anglers and the boat is specially designed for south Florida live bait fishing. The fishing vessel is powered by twin 200 Yamaha engines, is equipped with a Furuno color Fish Finder, GPS/Chart plotter and VHF radio. The boat is outfitted with a variety of 8, 12, 16 and 20 pound conventional and spinning gear, and depending on the quarry, we’ll bring additional 30, 50 and 80 pound gear for targeting larger game fish.
Larry’s boat has an oversized t-top to keep you covered from the sun and all the safety gear to keep you safe and comfortable on the water.
